The Swiss Alps

Day One is an early morning ferry crossing from Dover to Calais and once in France you’ll make your way to arrive at our first (half board) three star hotel 10 minutes south of Nancy where the group will rendezvous to begin the Tour.

Day Two will see us ride down through France to Lucelle in the Southern Alsace, just a short distance from the Swiss border. Here our very comfortable independent three star (half board) hotel is situated in the heart of the Sundgauvian countryside with beautiful views of the Swiss Jura. Along the way we will have the opportunity to ride the Route des Crêtes up to the spectacular Col du Grand Ballon in the Vosges Mountains, just a few hours from out hotel.

We are then perfectly situated for our short ride over the border to Switzerland on Day Three towards the Bernese Oberland. Our four star (half board) Alpine hotel for the next night and for two nights on our return is located in Grindlelwald. The hotel has a unique panoramic position with stunning, unobstructed views of the iconic Eiger North Face and Wetterhorn mountains from its rear terrace. 

Day Four is our ride to Zuoz, in the far east of Switzerland and it will allow us to ride some iconic central Swiss mountain passes; Including the Susten Pass towards Andermatt, the Oberalp-Passstrasse, the Julier Pass and onwards through to the iconic resort off St.Moritz, before we arrive for two nights in our three star (half board) quality accommodations in Zuoz, in the Upper Engadine region. A ride out day into the twists and turns of the South Tyrol in northern Italy awaits us on Day Five, with an opportunity for those that would like to tackle the mighty Stelvio and Umbrail Passes, don’t forget your obligatory ‘bratwurst’ before you begin your ride! Equally you could take the train to St.Morritz if you fancy a day away from the bike.

After two nights in these truly mountainous surroundings the Tour heads back on Day Six to a further two nights in Grindelwald, riding some exceptional mountainous passes on the way.  Our accommodation includes use of the hotels swimming pool, steam bath sauna and Roman bath. With exceptional four course cuisine included in the Tour price and a generous buffet breakfast, just what’s required after ‘conquering’ some of Switzerland’s most famous and stunning mountain passes over the next two full ride out days! These iconic routes are conveniently located just a short distance away; including the Grimsel, Furka, St.Gottard, Nufenen and Susten!

Day Eight is a short ride back to our independent three star (half board) hotel in Lucelle, before we return over the Vosges Mountains to our (half board) hotel near Nancy on Day Nine..  

Day Ten is a return to Calais to board a late afternoon ferry to Dover. Time then to reflect on the magnificence and stunning beauty of the Swiss Alps, the Vosges Mountains and the incredible Italian roads and ‘conquering’ some of the most iconic mountain passes in Europe!
